The research done at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Foundation which has a150 bed yoga therapy hospital shows the following results. We did a research study on the effect of yoga in treating low-back pain patients. Over 126 patients participated in the study. The results show that in just 14 days:

a) There was a nearly 70% reduction in the symptom score check-list for low-back pain.

b) There was a 50% reduction in the pain analog scale.

c) There was nearly 60% decrease in the medication required for treating the pain.

d) There was a nearly 70% improvement in flexibility as measured by the ‘sit-and-reach’ scale.

e) There was a 60% improvement in psycho-physiological checklist indicating that certain physiological changes such as slowing down of breath rate, slowing down of heart rate and reduced blood pressure.

You may see a graph showing our principal results in the attached file.
