Yes Yoga can reduce weight, but we need to know more about your weighty condition.
Please let me know.
- What is your height?
2 What is your body Mass Index?
3. Since when did you start putting on weight?
4. Are there any medical conditions associated with your weight?
5. What is your age?
6. Where is maximum fat concentration?
7. What is you waist /hip ratio?
Though I declare that yoga can reduce weight, for the best results I advice you combine yoga and diet together.
Yoga works wonders integrating mind body, taking away the stress, and leading to contentment even in intake of food.
There are specially designed yoga programs for obesity, which you can learn from a good teacher. Straight away you can start with whatever Yoga you can learn and repeat it many times (dynamic way) for example a triangle posture for 10 times each side.
Hope you are not yo yo Dieting.
As a nutritionist I feel that any exercise regimen for loosing weight will start with low and moderate exercise and slowly by 8-10 weeks period increase it if possible. The first 10 15 days the weight loss is certainly due to water loss form the body so we do not take it seriously.
Also you start on liquid diet once a week. Start with lot of water, fruit juices (preferably citrus fruit), every two hours, if you feel very hungry, you may have a small bowl of soup. At 7.30 pm you can eat a small dinner, but eat very slowly.
A TIP- Take warm water, with one full lime, and a tea spoon of honey early in the morning before taking anything else.
